Bebe Nanaki University College Girls, Fattudhinga is one of the constituent colleges established with the collective efforts of the University Grants Commission New Delhi, Punjab Government and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The vision of the college is to aggrandize nation-building in the emerging global scenario by their holistic development.
The College is committed to clinch the twin objectives of imparting quality education and inculcating moral values amongst students belonging to the rural and educationally backward belt of Kapurthala district. We believe in the philosophy of creativity and excellence because the creativity oozes knowledge and potential to reach the horizons of triumph. The college aims at coupling the backward people with the national mainstream and providing them a rostrum to shine on the holistic panorama.
Established in the huge and splendid campus of 25 acres, the college is embellished with the lush green lawns. Refined computer science and fashion designing laboratories, fully equipped Physics and Chemistry labs and a Hi-Tech English language lab has also been installed to promote the proficiency of the students in the concerned subjects. A big and modish library has been provided to sustain the literary and academic growth of the students. A dedicated team of highly qualified faculty appointed by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar and efficient administration imbued with wonderful deal and progressive vision is working hard day and night to attain the goal of all round drawing out the best in student’s body mind and spirit. Keeping this aspect in mind Cultural, Sports, NCC and NSS wings in the college have been contributing efficiently. Various seminars, conferences, workshops and group discussions are conducted at regular intervals for the academic growth and development of literary tastes of the students. A Career counseling and placement cell established in the college has been working hard to help the students choose best career opportunities in their chosen field. It is a matter of honor and immense pleasure that destiny has given me an opportunity to lead the Constituent colleges associated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. These colleges have been established as a result of united effort of UGC, Government of Punjab and Guru Nanak DevUniversity, Amritsar with special purpose of raising the standard of higher education speciallyin rural area. Higher education scenario globally has witnessed a significant change in approach-and a remarkable growth. Higher education in India too, has readily adapted to the global demands and every institution has geared up to meet the global challenges by harnessing the latest technologies in education front. The major focus is on creating an optimized and vibrant platform for quality in knowledge enhancement and bridging the gap between academia and industry with an objective to build up core competence in students integrating knowledge with skills on the foundation of ethics and values. These colleges provide quality and affordable education to needy students. While cherishing the journey and milestones achieved so far, we must look forward and prepare ourselves for future challenges to propel these colleges to even greater heights. The primary focus is to follow the New Education Policy (NEP) in its true spirit, fostering inter-disciplinary research, deepening industry-academia collaboration, exploring and developing new avenues of knowledge, and resource generation through knowledge transfer. The students spend a significant portion of their lives on campus. They join the colleges to make their dreams a reality. Crossing the threshold of Bebe Nanaki University College for Girls, Fattudhinga, all the students should acknowledge that the college will make sterling and conscientious efforts to materialize their dreams and aspirations and their decision to take admission in this college will prove more fecund than they anticipated.
Dear students, you will not only achieve quality education in this college but also the institution will provide all the infrastructure and resources essential for all-round development of the students. The aim of this academic institution is not only to provide academic degrees to the students but also to impart moral and ethical values among the students so that they could contribute to a developed, humane and refined society. I feel that only higher education can enable a student to develop mentally, socially and economically. It is the bedrock for holistic development of a person in society. So, I pledge that you will have the honour of obtaining degree and become competent and self-sufficient in your life. You should always feel proud of being a part of this institution. It will be our aim and prime responsibility to enable you to rise and shine and achieve success in society.
The college is successfully running arts, Commerce, Science and information Technology streams in its campus. Keeping in mind the demand of the students, some new courses like MA Punjabi, Diploma in Fashion Technology and some other subjects like Music Instrumental, Fine Arts and Physical Education have also been introduced in Bachelor in Arts stream. Open Distance Learning (ODL) programmes were also launched from previous academic session. Students will be able to acquire good quality higher education at lower fee charges.
For the holistic growth of the students, extra-curricular activities and sports events along with academics are also organised at the college campus. NSS and NCC units have been initiated to teach the values of discipline, cooperation, unity and responsibility. Various state level and national level seminars and conferences are organised to provide quality education to the students. Special bus services to various routes have been rendered to girl students to ensure their convenience and safety. Ultra modern library and hi-tech Computer labs, Science Labs, Language lab and Psychology lab are the insignia of the futuristic and progressive academic blueprint and avant-garde infrastructure framework of the college. All the college rules and regulations have been mentioned in this prospectus. I hope that the students will comply with all the rules and regulations of the college and maintain the decorum of the institution because without discipline, no institution can excel and surmount on academic platform.
